Here are some tips to minimize risks:

  • Close the door behind you, and make sure no one follows you in.  “Tail-gating” is the most common security issue.
  • Secure both wheels and your bicycle frame with two U-locks.
  • Don't leave accessories. Consider taking expensive lights, bags and other accessories with you.
  • Keep it short. Bikes that get left for longer are more vulnerable.  If you must park overnight, consider a higher grade lock, and choose a parking spot that's less visible from outside.
